Advanced Sports Medicine, From a Physician Who Treats the Nation's Best

Dr. Jarrod Harrall brings nearly two decades of elite sports medicine experience
— including work with Olympic, professional, and Division I athletics to his independent practice, Maverick Sports Medicine.

Non-surgical treatment options. No insurance hassle. No rushed visits. Just precise, personalized care.

Why Maverick Sports Medicine Is Different

  • A Champion-caliber physician, not a rotating provider. Dr. Harrall is a current sports medicine physician at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center and the 2020 National Sports Physician of the Year — the same clinical expertise used with elite athletes, now available to you.

  • Every procedure performed by Dr. Harrall — personally. No hand-offs to another provider or assistant. The person who diagnoses you is the person treating you.

  • Non-surgical care is our entire focus — not an add-on. Our sole focus is curating comprehensive, advanced nonsurgical plans, which many times can negate the need for surgery.

  • Independent, not a franchise. Maverick Sports Medicine is a locally owned, physician-led practice providing custom, entry to end care.

  • Transparent, unhurried, cash-pay care. Transparent. Unhurried. Patient-centered. Cash-pay care. You'll know what to expect, understand what you're paying for, and receive the time and attention needed to make confident decisions about your health.

Our Approach to Care

Precision Medicine, Guided by Evidence

At Maverick Sports Medicine, every treatment plan starts with a clear diagnosis — never a generic protocol. Dr. Harrall combines a hands-on physical exam with diagnostic ultrasound imaging to see exactly what's happening beneath the surface, so treatment decisions are based on what's actually driving your pain, not a best guess.

Ultrasound Guided Precision Treatment

Every injection at Maverick Sports Medicine is placed using real-time ultrasound guidance — allowing Dr. Harrall to visualize the exact target (a tendon, joint space, or nerve) as the treatment is delivered, rather than relying on anatomical landmarks and guesswork. This is the same imaging-guided precision standard used in elite sports medicine settings, and it allows for more accurate placement than traditional blind injection techniques.

Advanced, Non-Surgical Treatment Options

  • Ultrasound-Guided Injections — real-time imaging ensures precise placement for corticosteroid, anesthetic, and other targeted injections

  • Orthobiologics — treatments that use cellular messaging to assist in healing of new or chronic inuries

Why See Dr. Harrall?

1. He treats elite level athletes — and now, you.

Dr. Harrall isn't marketing borrowed credibility. He is, right now, a team physician at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center, and has spent years as a physician for MLB organizations and Team USA's national governing bodies. The same clinical judgment he applies to elite athletes preparing for the Olympic Games is what you get at your appointment.

2. Deep, focused experience — not a side interest.

Dr. Harrall has built his entire career around sports medicine and non-surgical musculoskeletal care since his 2010 fellowship — this isn't an add-on service line, it's the whole practice.

3. A teacher, not just a practitioner.

Dr. Harrall has held academic faculty appointments at two universities and regularly lectures nationally on the exact techniques used at Maverick Sports Medicine — orthobiologics, joint injections, and musculoskeletal diagnosis. When you're treated here, you're getting someone who trains other physicians in this field.

4. Longstanding Colorado Springs roots.

Aside from his time at the University of Kansas (2021–2025), Dr. Harrall has practiced in Colorado Springs since 2012 — including as a Colorado Springs Top Doc honoree. He knows this community and this athletic population well.

5. National recognition, not just local reputation.

The 2020 Jack C. Hughston Award for National Sports Physician of the Year is a distinction awarded to one physician nationally — a level of outside validation that's rare to find in a private, direct-pay clinic.

Dr. Jarrod Harrall

Dr. Jarrod Harrall has spent nearly two decades caring for athletes at the highest levels of competition — as a physician for the Milwaukee Brewers, Team USA's National Governing Bodies, and Division I programs including the University of Kansas and Colorado College. In 2021, he served as a Team USA physician at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Today, he continues that work as a sports medicine physician at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

In 2020, Dr. Harrall was named National Sports Physician of the Year — a distinction awarded to one physician in the country. He's also a longtime educator, having held faculty appointments at two universities and lectured nationally on orthobiologics, joint injections, and musculoskeletal care.

Through his independent practice, Maverick Sports Medicine, Dr. Harrall now brings that same elite-level expertise directly to Colorado Springs — with the focused, unhurried, non-surgical care every patient deserves.
